The AccuTRANS Tankerman: The Grit & Heart of the Maritime Industry
As we reflect on our 25th anniversary, we’re reminded of the early days of World War II in the 1940s when women across the United States took on jobs traditionally held by men.
These women worked in factories, shipyards, and other industries, helping to produce the materials and equipment we needed to fight and win the war. We remember these women, known as Rosie the Riveters, as symbols of strength, determination, and patriotism.
Today, a new generation of workers is keeping our country running.
The AccuTRANS tankerman is an essential worker who symbolizes Grit, Heart, Thought, Hunger, and Health. Tankermen are the men and women who work tirelessly to ensure that our homes, businesses, and transportation systems are powered by the fuel they need.
They are the unsung heroes who work long hours and travel long distances. Tankermen are just as essential to our economy and our way of life as Rosie the Riveters were.
Tankermen are responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of dangerous liquids, including gasoline, crude oil, and natural gas all around the Gulf Coast. These materials are essential for our homes, businesses, and transportation systems.
Without AccuTRANS tankermen, our economy would grind to a halt. They are highly trained and experienced professionals, licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard, and must have a thorough understanding of the principles of marine safety and barge operations.
Tankermen also work in a variety of weather conditions, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with their logistics team.
Together, they are the core of the AccuTRANS team and play a vital role in our company’s success and that of our nation. AccuTRANS tankermen are also heroes in our communities who ensure the safe and environmentally responsible transport of liquids during a transfer.
AccuTRANS tankermen prioritize family and the safekeeping of our friends and neighbors, and they give back to the communities through organizations like Junior Achievement and RiverWorks Discovery. Being a tankerman is not just a job; it is a fulfilling way of life.
“These men and women keep our country running and communities safe. The next time you see an AccuTRANS tankerman, take a moment to thank them for their service,” said Shon, VP of Operations at AccuTRANS.
